EN - FOD

The FOD (Foreign Object Damage) ELearning platform has been designed to raise awareness and train individuals in the control and prevention of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and the resulting Foreign Object Damage (FOD) caused by debris. This training course places its primary focus on the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) environment; however, it is applicable to all personnel involved in aircraft maintenance.

The primary objective of this FOD awareness and prevention training program is to:

1. Increase employee awareness to the causes and effects of FOD;
2. Promote active involvement through specific techniques; and,
3. Stress good work habits through work disciplines.


FOD prevention training is required as part of initial job orientation and on a continuing basis for employees associated with:

• Design and development;
• Manufacturing and Maintenance;
• Assembly and Test;
• Operations and Repair;
• Modification and Refurbishment.
